Tammy Ben-Tor

Over the last 12 years, Tamy Ben-Tor has attempted to deepen an investigation into the human presence in an artificial environment, which is the work of art. The artist has stated: “I find performance to be an exciting medium because of its transparency and closeness to the human condition, our dwelling in our bodies for our life’s duration and the decisions we make on the shape and meaning of that life are for me an exact metaphor for the performative work.”

Tamy Ben-Tor… Show more was born in Israel and currently lives and works in New York City. She has had solo shows at the Moderna Museet, Stockholm; Cubitt, London; The Kitchen, New York, and Zach Feuer Gallery, New York, and has participated in group exhibitions at the Mori Museum, Tokyo; MoCA, Los Angeles; Reina Sofia, Madrid; as well as the PERFORMA 05 and PERFORMA 07 Biennials, New York.
