Alamo Drafthouse is recreating the “Summer of 1982” to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the greatest summer of movies… ever! From May through July, the theater will replicate 1982’s earth-shaking release schedule, screening eight of the biggest genre classics on the same weekends they were released exactly 30 years ago.

“As a kid, I couldn't really relate to or even understand the working class struggles depicted in Rocky and Rocky II. But when "Eye of the Tiger" came booming over the opening sequence of ROCKY III, I knew the series had expanded to include me. ROCKY III leaves behind Rocky's hard-scabble life in favor of squaring off against cartoonish characters played by Hulk Hogan and Mr. T, but the movie never lost the core values of the first two films: honesty, modesty, and hard-work.
