The Austin Book Workers has its annual bookmaking fair July 1 at the Austin Museum of Art. Starting with a piece of paper, guests add printing, stamping, woodcuts, marbling, paste paper, suminagashi, collage, a set of covers and walk out with a book. There are several hands-on areas where everyone can enjoy creative play as well as a children's book hospital where a child may bring his or her board book to be repaired. The event is fun as well as an educational opportunity.
