Students learn dance in a number of ways, and a successful teacher can accommodate all students’ needs. You will begin by understanding how you learn and what your goals are as a teacher. Then, you will proceed to creating a dance philosophy that will guide you in becoming a more effective educator. 
In this course, you will learn how to:
Define and refine your personal philosophy of teaching dance
Develop objectives for your teaching
Cultivate goals for your students
Apply various teaching methods in order to accommodate different learning styles 
Offer effective feedback and evaluation
Certification is awarded when a comprehensive understanding and mastery of the material is demonstrated. If this does not occur by the end of the series, then students will need to arrange for additional coach sessions.
$150 (plus $5.00 for paypal or eventbrite fee) for 24 hours of training in a small group setting 
A workbook accompanies the lecture. You may choose one of the following options: 
$25 for hardcopy of workbook 
$10 for PDF file of workbook (please bring laptop to the lecture in order to receive the file)

She wants teachers, dancers, and students to be the best that they can be at any given time. Laura stresses a strong foundation while helping individuals achieve their goals and enjoy their practice of learning. She holds a PhD in Dance History and Theory from the UC Riverside and has over twenty years of teaching experience, including accredited courses at UCLA, UCR, and Cal Poly Pomona, continuing adult education classes, and workshops at a number of universities and colleges.
