Vein-throbbing, foaming, red-eyed maniac Klaus Kinski was the most notorious wildman to ever torment a filmmaker.

His on- and off-screen rampages against his collaborators are the stuff of legend, and have been the subject of documentaries, articles and countless muttered rumors. By 1986, the German actor had achieved absolute delusional godhood, and no director could stand in the way of his self-declared genius. Not even underappreciated David Schmoeller, the man behind overlooked horror treasure TOURIST TRAP, could reign in Kinski's mania for a story about an ex-Nazi landlord who tortures and annihilates his slum-dwelling boarders.
