Sand Mandala Project
Tibetan Buddhist monks from the Drepung Loseling Monastery are visiting the Blanton Museum of Art, where they are constructing an intricate, large-scale mandala using million of grains of sand in the museum’s soaring two-story atrium. Construction of the mandala will take place during museum hours through Sunday. The Sand Mandala Project is presented as part of the exhibit “Into the Sacred City: Tibetan Buddhist Deities from the Theos Bernard Collection.”
