The Texas Tribune CEO & editor in chief Evan Smith will moderate a discussion with Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst, the presiding officer of the Texas Senate, at the historic Austin Club downtown. Dewhurst was elected land commissioner in 1998 and won the lieutenant governor's race four years later. He was re-elected in 2006 and 2010, and recently told reporters he plans to seek re-election again in 2014. Coffee will be served. RSVP required by 5 p.m. on Jan-23.
