"Farfalle" ("Butterflies")

This February, the Scottish Rite Theater is pleased to present "Farfalle" by Italy's Teatro di Piazza d'Occasione (Compagnia TPO). Farfalle is an immersive experience that creates an innovative relationship between children and performers as we journey through the literal and symbolic story of a butterfly's life cycle. The technological centerpiece of the show is the CCC or "children's cheering carpet," a special sensor-covered mat, which invites children to participate with images and sound.
Beautiful… Show more botanical images and captivating rainforest sounds emerge from every direction when a simple stage morphs into a magical playground that respondsin real timeto the graceful movements of two dancers. Even bigger thrills come when young ones from the audience are invited to touch and explore the glowing, interactive garden themselves. The evolution from caterpillar to butterfly has never been so brilliantly staged.
