The Future of Music SXSW Showcase

On Friday, March 15 and Saturday, March 16, Austin’s Eye in the Sky Collective and Chicago app startup eevzdrop will take over Shiner’s Saloon in the heart of downtown Austin for the third annual Future of Music Showcase, an unofficial party happening during SXSW presented in partnership with T. Cannon Media, Ditto Music, ATX Music Mag, and Push Music. Food and drink will be provided.

Featuring 25+ bands playing from noon-2am each day, this year’s lineup highlights rising Texas stars like Shakey… Show more Graves and The Tontons with a selectively curated mix of acts ranging from Chicago hip-hop to Danish psychedelic folk. It will also feature a special performance from the legendary BP Fallon and the Bandits (Third Man Records), featuring Rock and Roll Hall of Famers Scott Asheton (The Stooges), Clem Burke (Blondie), and Nigel Harrison (Blondie). More headliners will be announced in the coming weeks. See below for a list of confirmed acts so far.

Curated by Eye in The Sky co-founder and “Vision Quest Executive” Anthony Erickson, The Future of Music Showcase has become a bellwether for predicting SXSW’s next breakout artists. Previous performers have since performed on Jimmy Kimmel Live and Anthony Bourdain’s “No Reservations,” been featured on MTV’s “Buzzworthy” and NPR Music and topped the popularity lists of Hype Machine and Reddit.
