Unrequited Love: Troubadours of France & Spain, c. 1100-1300
The poetry and music of the troubadours of Medieval France inspired artists all over Europe for generations. A thousand years later, cultures around the globe refer to favored singers as troubadours. TEMP presents the 'original' Troubadour songs from the 11th – 13th centuries, with soulful ballads about the absent boyfriend, the death of a king, and unrequited love mixed with dazzling chants and gorgeous motets from southern France and Spain. Special guest, Mary Springfels on Medieval strings.
