The Upper Decks

...come at the end of the 42 stairs I counted to get to the top Deck, which was breezy and sunny, relaxed and comfortable...
My shot of Jameson's was free-poured large enough that when chased with a Fireman's I almost decided not to eat, just drink all afternoon... Luckily, my girl wouldn't stand for that, and insisted we get something "just to munch on"... She wanted the Shrimp and Avocado Nachos, I would've preferred the Stuffed Jalapenos, but prices were right enough that we decided to just order both...
Her nachos were crispy and cheesy, sweet shrimp and creamy fresh avocado, and the Chipotle Aioli added just the right kick for this twist on a classic bar dish... The right size that I could've skipped my Fried Jalapenos, but you know I've got to have my way and am glad I did... Chicken and cheese poured out of the spicy and breaded jalapeno shell, still steaming hot but cooled (believe it or not) by the Chipotle Ranch... Nice 'n' spicy, crispy and delicious, so much so that I took two of the three home to savor the memory (and, of course, eat as many of my girl's nachos as I could)...
Half-full with another round of drinks on the way, we decided to split the Cedar Planked Salmon, which arrived plated beautifully enough that we almost didn't want to destroy it... The smell wafting off the plate had other plans, though, and we were soon fork-battling over the last bits of fillet of salmon flakes and Orange Avocado Salsa and realizing we'd barely touched our fresh 512 IPAs...
We opted to drink our dessert, but took home a Dewberry Pie (the Dewberries taste like Dewberries!) without the ice cream, and once we made it back to the couch saw it was a crumb-and-berry filled slice that took 30 seconds to reheat and just about as long to eat...
Our server told us the TVs would be installed on the Top Deck within 2 weeks, and the bar would be fully stocked upstairs as well (although it had everything most folks need), at which point you'd be hard-pressed to keep us away... We tipped her 25%, we're in the biz, after all, but almost wanted to leave more after we realized how many times she probably had to climb those stairs... We'll be back, oh yes, we'll be back, especially when about to head Downtown or coming back from Auditorium Shores... When I can eat, drink, and smoke in the same seat, I'm a happy man, and I left Upper Decks grinning like an idiot...
