"Frankenstein"

Frankenstein is the February production at the Bastrop Opera House opening this weekend for a three-weekend run Fridays and Saturdays at 7:30 p.m. A perfect Valentine month's offering.

This production is the inaugural choice for the KBOH Fireside Radio Theatre Players. Local performers and foley artists bring to life Philip Grecian's adaptation of Mary Shelley's gothic horror story of the scientist who attempts to create the perfect man.

The setting is a 1940's radio broadcast studio which has… Show more been a popular genre for the local community theatre. New aspects have been added. In addition to the fireplace aglow during the show, special lighting effects have been added to heighten the viewing of the radio broadcast.

Performing currently are Barbara Kelley, Mary Broussard, Darby Gibbins, Jill Lake, Danielle Huber, and Sherry Witte. Paul Standifer, Cole McClurg, Desmond Devitt and Paul Christian Tuttrup, Jr. join Noel Hurst, Mike Witte, Randy Combs and Chester Eitze to complete the cast. Other KBOH radio productions will feature more talent from Bastrop County during the 2013 theatre season.

Maestro Bill Owens assisted with the musical interludes fitting for a radio drama. The production is presented by special arrangement with Dramatic Publishing of Woodstock, Illinois.

Table seating is provided for this production adding to the more casual setting of the fireside radio show.
