Faithful to the book, freshened to today, this movie is a powerful story about how creativity, risk taking and seeking excellence drives prosperity compared against collectivist thinking that removes motivation and does the opposite. The actors playing Dagny Taggart and Henry Reardon capture the characters very well from Ayn Rand's book. The story is fast paced, and should satisfy all who have read the book. For those who have not read the book it should inspire you to do so. At the end of the movie the whole audience applauded. Ignore the critics poor reviews - this is a must see movie!

If Oscars were given for sheer determination, then director Paul Johansson might find himself holding a golden statue. He has done what many over the past half-century have tried and failed to do: bring at least part of Ayn Rand's 1,100-plus page 1957 epic, "Atlas Shrugged," to the big screen.
