The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) lives a simple life with his fellow hobbits in the shire, until the wizard Gandalf (Ian McKellen) arrives and convinces him to join a group of dwarves on a quest to reclaim the kingdom of Erebor. The journey takes Bilbo on a path through treacherous lands swarming with orcs, goblins and other dangers, not the least of which is an encounter with Gollum[C21]and a simple gold ring that is tied to the fate of Middle Earth in ways Bilbo cannot even fathom.

I am not a big LORD OF THE RINGS fan but this movie was good because of the action and the story. But I wish they showed more fighting scenes and less drama because it was a long movie.
Wow! Don't believe the national reviews, this movie is fun and a lot deeper than the original novel. It's expanded by backstory not in The Hobbit, but you can feel that it's all adding up to another great trilogy!

Judging part one of Peter Jackson’s “The Lord of the Rings” prelude “The Hobbit” is a bit like reviewing a film after seeing only the first act.
