Austin Aztex

The Austin Aztex are a franchise in the USL founded in 2011, to reestablish a team in Austin after the original Aztex team moved to Orlando. In the first year of competition in 2012, the team made the playoffs, representing the Mid-South Division. Under the leadership of Head Coach Paul Dalglish, the team plays an exciting brand of soccer featuring elite local and national players.

In doing so, the Aztex were excited to have three 2012 players chosen in the first 11 picks of MLS SuperDraft.

The franchise is owned and operated by ATX SOCCER LLC, chaired by David Markley, a founder and minority owner of the previous Aztex franchise, and Rene Van De Zande, President and CEO of Emergo Group.
