The Jitterbug Vipers
Jitterbug Vipers are a hybrid of Lindy Hop (swing music) and Viper music, a unique offshoot of swing music popularized by Ella Fitzgerald, Nat King Cole, Benny Goodman, Duke Ellington and other jazz greats of the 1930s and 40s. Founded in 2007 by “the most dangerous guitarist in Texas” Slim Richey, Jitterbug Vipers are comprised of three other Austin music staples: lead singer Sarah Sharp, Francie Meaux Jeaux on stand-up bass, and Berkeley School of Music graduate Masumi Jones on drums.
