Kathy Bates

Made her big-screen debut in the 1971 Milos Forman comedy-drama Taking Off . She had a bit part as a singer and was credited as Bobo Bates. Made her TV debut as a bride in a segment of The Love Boat  that aired on January 7, 1978. Starred as Frankie in the 1987 off-Broadway production of Frankie and Johnny in the Clair de Lune, a role that was specifically written for her by playwright Terrence McNally.
