Attended the same Chicago high school as Barack Obama's wife, Michelle. Before becoming a filmmaker, worked on Marvel Comics' Ectokid series. Original proposal to Warner Bros. for the Matrix trilogy was a 600-page comic book of the films sketched out scene-by-scene by comic artists Geof Darrow and Steve Skroce.
