Formed in the late 1990s, the Nashville-via-upstate-New York country-folk band Old Crow Medicine Show is part of a substantial crop of acts bringing a D.I.Y. punk attitude to bear on traditional American roots music. Injecting their musical moonshine with healthy doses of bluegrass, straight country, folk, and blues, Old Crow Medicine show has found purchase with fans sporting tattoos and piercings, as well as cowboy boots and western wear.
